Q & A: Scott Kelby, the Sultan of Shutter
By Erik Rhey
Q: What is the future of digital photography?
A: I think we’re getting close to the end of the megapixel race.
Larger files eat up storage space and slow down Photoshop. The next
revolution, which is already starting in high-end cameras, is incredibly
low noise (so you can shoot handheld in very low light). This will soon
appear in lower-end digital SLRs and point-and-shoots. It will open
a whole new world to people who aren’t comfortable with pro-flash
and aren’t happy with their built-in flash. They want that natural
look, and low-noise cameras will let them shoot in candlelight and get
the quality images they want without the blur.
